Abstract

In Indonesia, up to 70% of women, including pregnant women, experience vaginal discharge (Ula & Liunesi, 2018). Candida is a well-known association found in patients with vaginal discharge and itching in pregnant women (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2021).

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of boiled red betel leaves on the incidence of vaginal discharge in pregnant women at the Pagerageung Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya Regency in 2025.

This study was conducted at the Pagerageung Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. The population in this study was 30 pregnant women in the Pagerageung Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya Regency, in June 2025.

The results of the statistical test using the Mann-Whitney test showed a p-value of 0.000 <α=0.05, thus rejecting H0, indicating that red betel leaf decoction had an effect on the incidence of vaginal discharge in pregnant women at the Pagerageung Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya Regency in 2025.

It is recommended that women maintain the cleanliness of their female organs to avoid abnormal vaginal discharge during pregnancy.
