Nearly 50-90% of pregnant women experience nausea in the first trimester. Causes of nausea and vomiting vary, including changes in estrogen hormones and the release of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in serum. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy on emesis gravidarum in first-trimester pregnant women at the Pagerageng Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya Regency, in 2025.
The quantitative research design used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all first-trimester pregnant women experiencing emesis gravidarum. The research technique used probability sampling, with sampling using an experimental group and a control group, with 15 members in each group.
The results of the statistical test using the Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 <α=0.05, thus rejecting H0, which means that lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing emesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester at the Pagerageng Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya Regency in 2025.
It is hoped that therapy can be carried out to reduce nausea and vomiting during the first trimester of pregnancy using lavender aromatherapy.
